1. Cleaning your face

Do your usual skincare regimen, or follow these steps:

  • Scrubbing. Cleanse the face with a little scrub, and stroke gently in a circular movement with warm water to get rid of the dead skin cells. Clean and pat (don't rub) your face with a towel.
  • Moisturize. Use moisturizer with a sunscreen that has an SPF of 15 or higher to the neck and face. Let the moisturizer absorb into your skin before proceeding with the next step.
  • Moist a cosmetic pad or cotton ball with toner, and rub it gently in your skin. Toner is used to restore the skin to its normal pH level and expel any remaining filth or dead cells of skin.

2. Using a liquid based foundation (optional)

if you have to cover a lot of area, get a liquid foundation that is as close to your skin tone as possible. Using your hands or a cosmetic sponge to get a thin layer all over the face.

  • Note that if you're doing this step, it's best to be clean-shaven - little bits of make up will really stick out on stubbles.

3. Apply concealer

When you're out concealer shopping, try it on your veins on the inner wrist, and purchase one that covers them in the most natural way. This is how you can apply it to your face:

  • Conceal dark circles around the eye's. With short strokes, apply the concealer under your lower eye lashes and  in between the inside corner of your nose and eye's. Wait and let it dry halfway, afterwards rub it in with your fingers.
  • Hide blemishes by applying the concealer around the start of the blemish in short strokes, covering the top. Make sure to blend the edges aswell.

4. Set your concealer

Lightly load a small brush with loose powder that's as close as possible to your skin tone. Steadily pat the powder over every area where you used the concealer.

5. Powder the rest of your face (optional)

Apply a powder puff or a big brush to use the powder on the portions of your face that tend to get oily. Primarily pay attention on the T-zone - that's, the chin, forehead and nose area's of the face. These are the area's that tend to be oiliest with most people.

6. Use lip balm

Pick a transparent or neutral-colored lip balm that you can use during the entire day. Not only will it give your lips a smooth appearance, but it will also prevent them from getting chapped and getting dry lips (specially during the cold winter times).

7. Clearing the make up every night before going to bed

Letting the makeup stay on your face overnight isn't good for the skin. Wash your face again at the end of the day to remove the make up. And finally, use a moisturizer. Apply a richer moisturizer at night if you have a dry skin. So you look fresh in the morning when you get out of bed!
